Welcome to 1313 Magnolia Way!
I created this blog as an outlet for me to just put down what is on my mind, and to hopefully help anyone that may be going through the same things in life as me. It is always nice to know that we are not alone in life, but it is also nice to know that we are not alone in our sadness, grief, and even our happiness too. This will never be an advice column. I am far from perfect and far from having it all figured out. This is just an unedited, raw blog that is probably filled with tons of grammatical errors…but it’s me and it’s real.
If you are wondering what 1313 Magnolia Way is or represents, it is not the address where I grew up or where any great memory happened. It is actually a combination of things that symbolize me and who I have become or stand to become. “1313” represents 1 Corinthians 13:13, which is a bible verse that is very near and dear to my heart. Actually, quite literally…it is tattooed on my rib cage. Over time, through this blog and by reading my book (available by clicking Amazon link below or visiting my book page in site menu above), you’ll learn the reason why I love that verse so much. “Magnolia” is because magnolias represent perseverance, strength, nobility and love. All things that I feel describe me, or things that I hope to exude in my daily life. “Way” just simply represents the way of life and how our lives should be full of Faith, Hope, Love, Perseverance, Strength, Nobility, etc.
I really hope you enjoy traveling through life with me by way of this blog, and getting to know me along the way. I hope that something I’ve experienced (good or bad) connects with you and helps you with something you may be going through. As I mentioned before, this will never be me giving advice. I am just someone that has been through more than her fair share of B.S. in life and have found that talking about it with others, in any dynamic, can afford one the ability to heal. My posts will often be random and just something I want to get off my mind, but at times I will also talk about my bouts with depression and anxiety. Every one of us are different and it is important to realize that we all may experience things in very different ways. What works for me, may not work for you. If you are living with any form of mental illness, I highly recommend that you discuss your concerns and symptoms with a professional counselor and/or medical provider. Please do not use anything posted in this blog/website as a source of treatment or therapy.
